Puppy Wellness Exams
Adult Canine Wellness
Once your dog is an adult, we would like to see him at least once per year to check for common health problems such as weight gain, dental disease, and allergies, and infections endemic to our area such as heartworms, intestinal worms, lyme disease, and ehrlichia.
As he ages, the likelihood of us detecting problems on an annual exam increases. Perhaps we detect a cancerous lump we are able to remove before it spreads. Or a hormonal imbalance that is making him uncomfortable and prone to infections. We may notice that he is developing cataracts, losing weight, or has a heart murmur. All of these are changes that can happen as a part of the aging process, and many of them can be controlled with diet or medications.
Without a thorough exam, blood, and fecal samples, many of these problems can go unnoticed for months or years, leaving your dog uncomfortable, or worse.
In addition to keeping your dog up to date on vaccines and parasite prevention, our annual visits give us a chance to touch base about any changes that have taken place over the past year, so that problems can be caught early.
Over 80 percent of pets over the age of 3 have significant-enough dental disease to cause oral pain. We strive to address these issues as soon as possible, and prevent them when we can. Our digital dental x-rays allow us to detect disease under the gums we would otherwise miss, and our ultrasonic scaler allows us to clean teeth quickly to minimize the time your pet is under anesthesia.
We believe in a multimodal approach to managing the pain of chronic conditions such as arthritis. This means we reach beyond pharmaceuticals and add supplements, cold laser treatments, and dietary management to optimize pain control and minimize side effects of anti-inflammatory medications.
Our in-house lab allows us to investigate the cause of your pet’s symptoms within minutes and formulate a treatment plan as swiftly as possible. We diligently monitor chronic conditions with progress exams, and work closely with you to keep your pet comfortable and happy as long as possible.
Allergic skin disease is one of the most common chronic problems pets in this area of the country face. Armed with state of the art anti-itch medications, hypoallergenic diets, and a comprehensive skincare line, we are ready to provide pets with the fast relief they deserve!
We offer a variety of surgical services, from elective procedures like spays and neuters to emergency procedures like removing a sock from the intestines of a well-meaning Labrador. We place great emphasis on pain control, and our dedicated veterinary technicians monitor important vital signs such as blood pressure and oxygenation throughout the entire procedure.
Our digital x-ray system allows us to take quality images fast, and send them anywhere in the world within minutes via email. This allows us to consult remotely with radiologists when needed, and get you the expert answers you deserve.
Our class IV laser (aka cold laser) provides pain control, increases blood flow, and speeds healing of musculoskeletal injuries, wounds, and skin infections with virtually no side effects. We offer several packages tailored to your pet’s needs, and schedule sessions 6 days per week.
Feline Adult Annual
Feline lifestyles vary much more than our canine friends, so the cost of a visit will vary widely based on age, lifestyle and exposure to other pets and the outdoors.
Feline Kitten Visits
Saying goodbye to your loved one is never easy, but we are here to help you navigate this phase of your pet’s life as smoothly as possible. We offer hospice care to pets with terminal or end-stage conditions, and counseling for families to help determine the best time and the very best way for their pet to pass on.
