At Picture Hills, we believe relationships matter. We understand that your dog and/or cat isn’t just a pet, but a family member to you, so the moment they step through our doors, they become our family too.
We approach veterinary medicine in an individualized manner. Every dog and cat are unique and has unique needs. That’s why we’re here. To work with you and provide that individualized care for both preventative wellness and illness treatment.
Picture Hills has been providing care for Kansas City and the surrounding areas since 1989 and we look forward to continuing to do so for many years to come!
Our Facility
Picture Hills is located at 6519 N. Cosby Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64151 in The Picture Hills Shopping Center. There is ample parking right in front of the clinic making it easily accessible for those nervous or senior pets. When you step through our doors, you’ll experience a warm, welcoming, and eclectic atmosphere.

Our Services
Whether you’re new to the area, a new pet owner, or just looking to change up your veterinary care provider – we’re here to help with a diverse range of services. We are just as excited and prepared to add a sweet graying senior as a patient as we are a new puppy or kitten!
We schedule 30-minute appointment blocks to make sure our clients are given plenty of face time with the doctor and staff to get all their questions answered, and to allow us to take time with nervous pets.

Schedule An Appointment
You feel confident that becoming a client at Picture Hills is the right next step for you and your furry family member(s). Now what?
We invite you to schedule your first appointment! Please fill out our New Client Form online or give us a call at (816) 587-3300. You’ll be connected with one of our helpful Customer Service Representatives who will walk you through scheduling your first appointment.
Your First Appointment
It’s always a good idea to bring your pet slightly hungry as we plan to shower them with treats to make the experience as pleasant as possible for all parties! Before arriving for your appointment, we ask that you secure your cat in a cat carrier and/or dog on a leash (or travel crate) before entering the building. This is for the safety of your pet and other patients.
You will then check in at the front desk with a Customer Service Representative. A member of our medical staff will soon meet you in the lobby, and take you to an exam room where we’ll ask a few questions in preparation for the veterinarian to come in. Be prepared to provide a brief history of your pet (if known) and confirm any services they may have already been provided at a different hospital.
One of our veterinarians will then examine your pet, address any concerns you may have, and create your pet’s individual care plan. The pet’s diagnostics and treatments will be performed in the room as much as possible to minimize stress if the client is comfortable with it. This is a great time to ask questions! We want to ensure that you are a partner in your pet’s health care plan and that you’re comfortable with the information we are providing.
A member of our team will schedule any follow-up appointments before you leave the exam room. Once the appointment has concluded, our Customer Service Representative will process your payment at the front desk.
