COVID-19 Pandemic Update
At Picture Hills Pet Hospital, we are entirely focused on the medical experience of our clients and patients. Now, more than ever, in light of the evolving COVID-19 (Coronavirus) situation, we are focused on the health and safety of all our clients, patients and employees, without compromising the quality of our veterinary services.
We are adhering to the latest information, protocols and tools from the world’s leading health experts and government authorities – including the World Health Organization and Centers for Disease Control – to maximize the effectiveness of our response.
The World Health Organization has stated, “There’s no evidence that dogs can spread the disease or that the disease can cause an animal to fall ill.” We have taken precautionary measures to ensure your wellbeing, along with that of your pets and our employees.
We have heightened our already stringent practices around sanitization, disinfection and cleaning, plus specific measures based on the guidance of local health authorities. The WHO has several recommendations to reduce exposure to a range of illnesses, including hand and respiratory hygiene as well as safe travel practices.
In the interest of all of our clients and staff, the Picture Hills Pet Hospital team requests that any clients who are exhibiting symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, or breathing difficulties refrain from coming to the facility and have a family member or friend bring their pet or reschedule the appointment entirely. Picture Hills Pet Hospital team members will be minimizing direct human-to-human contact while following all CDC recommended hygiene practices.
We will try to maintain social distancing and this will require us to get histories in the exam room and then may do the examinations of the pets back in the hospital treatment area. This will allow our staff to reduce public contact. While this reduces the family atmosphere we so love at Picture Hills Pet Hospital, it minimizes the chances of disease exposure. Please understand that if the PHPH team gets quarantined, the hospital would be closed to all services until a lift of the quarantine. We are going to diligently work to keep our doors open throughout this crisis to provide medical care. We ask that you please work with us to achieve that goal. We too look forward to life going forward in a more normal fashion.
If you don’t feel comfortable coming into our practice for your appointment or to pick up food/medications, please let us know and we would be happy to come to your car to get your pet, and/or deliver medications or food to your car. You can simply pay over the phone by credit card.
